I really want to be a boxer, but my parents won't even think about letting me. The problem with that is I can't do wrestling or any combat sport that involves holds. Or at least that's what they told me. It's all because of an operation on my ears I had when I was little involving subdermal permanent Gore-Tex stiches that are anchored somewhere in my neck around the base of my skull. So I figured if I can't be a boxer, at least I can train like one. I don't exactly know if I have access to punching bags or not but what are some good tips?

To answer your question, If you can't buy yourself a heavy bag, try standing a roll of carpet up and use it as a punching bag. To help prevent injuries, make sure to use hand wraps and boxing gloves.
To work on your defense, you can make your own maize bag. Just google or youtube, home made maize bag. Again for defense, tie some rope shoulder length high, from one end of an area to the opposite direction and bob and weave moving forwards and back. Make sure to bend at the knees and keep your hands up.
Conditioning, body weight exercise, squats, push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups etc. Running sprints, jogging, skipping rope, swimming etc
This is all that comes to mind, should be a good start. I have to add, nothing replaces the instruction of a qualified boxing coach to teach you correct technique.
I am not familiar with the procedure you had done.. I suggest you talk it over with your Doctor first just to be on the safe side.
