It would be cheaper and easier in the long run to use seamless paper. Also the white will be brighter/cleaner. Paper is also easy to change out - get a little food on the muslin and you have to wash it, dry it, have it pressed. Paper you just cut off the used part and start fresh.

Why not? Keep you depth of field shallow with the use of longer focal lengths and wider apertures. Also use a good solid tripod.
