they sicken me and sadden me. i will say this though.... keep your eyes out on military funrals in your town. keep onthe website of the patriot gaurd. they follow the westboro freaks and ride in and stand aong the way sheilding the family.

i went to a funeral a couple years back on veterans day. it was a young soldier who left behind a full personal family plus wife and 2 or 3 children. the patriot gaurd was out in full force - a good 400 bikers. our firemen were there with 3 HUGE flags to block the streets and we strangers all met up and stood along the route flags in hands - old and young, male & female and every other seperation from Christian & Jew to atheist (i'm getting misty just remembering). when the westboro people find the news is rallying the people -- They do NOT show up!!!

I unfortunately am very familiar with the Phelps protesters and their church. I grew up in Topeka. I would see them out in front of churches and just on busy intersections holding their signs. They even have young, young children holding those terrible signs. I'm sorry but, I have no answers to your questions - nor do I think anyone else does as well. This church and their followers are the only ones that know why they do the horrible, terrible, hurtful things that they do. The sad thing is, I don't think they will ever stop.

Westboro Baptist Church is not really a church at all, but a small family cult, There are very few of them, but their obnoxious behavior makes them very visible. If everyone ignored them, they would go away.

They are a hateful bunch of people who do a huge disservice to Christianity and Christ's name spewing such garbage in Jesus's name. They take something such as a beautiful message from Christ and waste it and make it meaningless with their hatred and garbage that they preach. They make me sick with their garbage message.
