I like Singapore and Malaysia because they are so different and exotic, and yet they are relatively small, safe, and peaceful places to go. You have all the extremes at your fingertips, no matter what you like (city nightlife, jungle, beach resort, etc.).
I like Utah because of the natural beauty and because the people there are so darn nice - but it's probably not for you if you want a really wild party scene. I like the Boston-New England area, too, because of the scenery and the beaches, and the closeness of all the major metropolitan centers. Plus, there's all that history!!
Germany, France, and Italy are cool not only because they are beautiful, but the food and wine is to die for. And they have all those historic cultural sites, as well. The only drawback is the language barrier, though most people speak at least a little bit of English so you can kind of get by.
Finally, I just love Scotland, too - it's wild, scenic, moody, and full of character and charm. I even like the food there! It's one drawback is that it's expensive. But, if I was going to relocate anywhere, and did not have to give job, family, etc., any consideration, this is the ONE place I could see myself staying in permanently. It's that impressive - especially the Highlands.
Hope this helps!
Where have I traveled?
I have been to the Gulf Coast, and l visited Texas. I have lived in New York State and visited New York City. I been to Maine. I have been to almost all of the Northeastern US. I have been to all the states between Ohio and Nevada. I have lived in South Carolina and picked up the southern accent. I have lived in Korea and now I reside in Las Vegas. I have been to Canada many times and have enjoyed my stay. I have been to Windsor often and Niagara Falls twice. (I have pics of my last visit there. Canada is a great place to go for a night out.)
Now if you really into sight seeing, may I suggest Colorado. I have never seen so much natural beauty in my life. It is fantastic. My next suggestion for sight seeing is New York State. It has beautiful country side, and not all of it is urbanized like New York City. A big contrast. I suggest visiting some of the wineries while you are up there, preferably Willow Creek.
If you need work, come to Nevada, there is plenty here. Living in Las Vegas is definitely interesting (but not for all the reasons may think it would be.)
Seoul, Korea is the place to go for a for visiting another country. If you live in the US, and never been any where else, prepare for another world. You will never be bored in Seoul, always something going on or explore. If you are into history, Korea has plenty from Korean war to ancient times. Food is cheap and wonderful. If you are not into city life, there is plenty to do country wise (Mountain climbing and nature walking is a popular sport here. I had my first water rafting trip here and loved it.) The other advantage of Korea is getting around on there public transit is cheap and get you anywhere.
Of course South Carolina has Myrtle beach. Columbia the state capital is a great party spot (Hey when you have a military town and a college town, some serious partying is going to happen.) I even went on a ghost tour there. Has plenty for sight seeing (State capital, you could tour town hall there.) get to shop in the world famous artist's shop Sky Blue (you should meet him, he is a great guy and owns a shop in Five Points.)
If you want to see a unique place, may I suggest stopping by in Ann Arbor Mich? It is quite the different place as for college towns go. Then there is Luna Pier Mich. Very beautiful to see the sun go down while you sit and fish on the docks.
Then there is Ohio. Cleveland is a great place to visit. They even have the house of blues. Stop by and visit. Oh then there is Cedar Point, an amusement park which has constantly made it into the Guinness book of world records by creating the world's best roller coasters (Look up the magnum and the raptor for example.) While you are visiting Ohio, may I suggest seeing the Great Lakes or even go visit on of the Put and Bay islands. Put and Bay is a place great for site seeing (you can rent a motorcycle or golf cart to drive around all day.) and see the local winery, or the crystal caves or of the many historic sites on the island (everything has happened here to war, ghost tours, to even the mafia using this place to smuggle rum into the US during the Prohibition.). Lets not forget it has the world's largest bar (the only bar in the world that is a mile long.) and great place to party. Has been called by the travel channel the Marty Gra of the North and it is to an extend, it is. All the hotels are bed and breakfasts so you get the chance to stay with a couple locals. Be warned, you should called ahead of time for vacancies often disappear quickly.
If you want to here more about my travels, I suggest you email me and I will tell you how I got around. Usually by my job or by looking for work. I get there by working. I have been in the Army, been a trucker and many other jobs and qualify for many more in jobs that travel well or require me to travel. Hope to see you or hear from you soon.
