If you see another teenager who looks around fifteen to seventeen years old and they are alone, first make eye contact with them, and you could talk to them, striking a conversation is always a good thing when traveling alone. When you reach your gate, do the same thing, and see if they will be sitting next to you during your flight, compare boarding passes. Be sure to bring an iPod, MP3, or CD player, and be sure that it is fully charged. You might want to bring a charger just in case that there is a long layover between your flights. Personal DVD players or a laptop is a good idea if you already own one, you'd be suprised how much time can pass when you are watching a really great film. If you don't have one of those handy or if you don't own one, bring a few magazines, newspapers, or books to keep you busy while you are listening to music, so you won't end up staring at someone who looks totally weird or staring off into space. At most airports, you can always buy a piece of literature to read at the store within the airport, but those are much more expensive than buying one at your local store. When on the plane, be friendly to the person you end up sitting next to, and you can always talk to the person. If the flight isn't busy and about half empty, try talking to a flight assistant, it is always a part of their job to talk to the airline passengers. Watch the onboard programming, if it is something that interests you. Have fun!

Get to the airport early, and browse around the duty free shops, or maybe get a meal at one of the restaurants. If you have an mp3 player, bring that to listen to some music. Maybe find a book store either at the airport, or before you go, and pick out a new book that you think you will enjoy. Reading always makes time pass fast.

I would also suggest, you pick up a travel book about Frankfurt. That way you can read up on the city, the culture, and learn more about the city you are travelling to. When you get there, you will feel alot more comfortable knowing more about the place.

Be sure to check out the airport websites so you can look at the terminal maps and find out what terminal your flight will be departing and arriving at. That way if you get lost, you will know where to go.

Make sure you have a cell phone with you at all times just in case you need it.

Here are some suggestions on what to bring:

-Eyeshades

-Earplugs

-Toiletries (bring whatever's not liquid)

-Any medicines you may need (even over-the-counter ones). You can even bring liquids if they're medicine. They allow that, and there's no 3 oz. limit for meds, either!

-Pillow (one of those neck pillows would be best)

-Several books

-mp3 player (e.g. iPod)

-headphones (if you have a double-prong adapter, bring it along; some airlines get money by making you buy them)

-if you have one, bring a laptop

-snacks (just not liquids)

-watch

-extra money (duty-free stuff is definitely worth it)

-camera (take some pictures, have some fun)

-(Please don't quote me on this one.) Try and get a small pocketknife through security if you won't have access to your checked luggage during layovers. It can be useful for many things, including self-defense. However, if you will have access to your luggage, leave it in there! (Don't blame me if it gets confiscated! It happens to my Dad all the time.)

-bring at least two forms of ID (e.g. passport and, in your case, a high school id). You may not be checked for your ID, since you're a minor. They didn't check mine when I flew alone. However, I wasn't flying international.

Go to your airline(s)'s website(s), and check there. They'll tell you what you really need.

Wear comfortable clothing. Falling asleep should not be a problem. They dim the lights and it's easy to fall asleep.

There are commerce-offs the two way. whilst it incredibly is advantageous to return and forth with others, I genuinely in no way hesitate to return and forth on my own to work out and do issues that pastime me. once you're vacationing on my own, you have distinctive flexibility to alter plans if something catches your interest and notice and do precisely the failings that maximum pastime you. i could gladly pass to any of the places you suggested on my own if there replaced into no person else that wanted to pass.
