okay so lets do the math!even though you had a + ovulation test onthe 4th you could have actually ovulated within 48 hrs...

so lets just for the sake of this assume that!

that puts us to the 6th...

now an egg lives up to 24 hrs and can be fertilized anywhere in that time...

so that can put us to the 7th...

it can take anywhere from 7-16 days for the fertilized egg to travel down the fellopian tube and implant in the uterus..so puts you at about the 23-24th

and only then does hcg start to appear in your system!

most people won't get a postitive on a pregnancy test (the really early detection kind) until 2 day past implantation because hcg is supposed to double every 48hrs...but it has to start somewhere...so 2-4-8-16-32...and so on...

so you are very early but if it is possible to follow my logic above then it may give you a reason why your numbers are on the low side!...

plus the first number doesn't matter! it's only the next few numbers that show if you HCG is doubling that matter!

When you take a pregnancy test at home, even if the lines are very faint....it is considered a positive. Go to your dr. and let them take a blood test to test the Hcg. The blood test will be the best test and can detect even the faintest amount of hcg. If you are pregnant...you are only about 4 weeks.

18 is very low. The main thing is that the number keeps doubling every 2 days. It sounds like you may have ovulated later than you think so your period due date would have been later.
