Hi there,
My question wasn't answered yet so I thought I'd give it another try.
I was recently admitted into the BFA undergrad program at Savannah College of Art and Design. I want to major in photography, and I have a 2.9 gpa. My portfolio consisted of photography pieces, and I was wondering if anyone knew of the chances of receiving a scholarship at this school, particularly in my situation. I've been searching google and I can't seem to find much info. I'd appreciate any answers and opinions about SCAD! Thanks!

i'm not to sure with American schools since i'm currently studying photography in Canada. When i was applying for Universities and Community Colleges, usually the school will give you a scholarship if you held a 80% average in your last year of school. I believe that an 80% average was $1000, and 85% was $1500 and a 90 was $2000.
Defiantly look around the colleges website, and if its not there, e-mail the school. I would also look into 2 year schools for Photography, and their programs. A BFA in photography is not going to do you any good if you want to become a photographer in the long run, because in the real world, people judge you by your portfolio and not your education behind it. Also you will more than likely get more hands on experience at 2 year schools since there is not as many 'academic' (Essays, and written work) projects.
