Okay so I looked up similar answers to my problems and they all point to my answers being right yet my homework keeps telling me that I'm wrong... Can someone please help?
1a.) At a ball game, consider a baseball of mass m = 0.1 kg that falls directly downward at a speed of v = 34 m/s into the hands of a fan. What impulse Ft must be supplied to bring the ball to rest?
My answer: 3.4 (kg.m/s) (it is set in that form)
1b.) If the ball stopped in 0.05 s, what is the average force of the ball on the catcher's hand?
My answer: 68 N
2.) A 5 kg fish swimming 3 m/s swallows an absent minded 1 kg fish swimming toward it at a velocity that brings both fish to a halt immediately after lunch. What is the velocity v of the smaller fish before lunch?
My answer: 15 m/s

1a) Ft = mv - mu
Ft = (0.1*34) - (0.1*0)
Ft = 3.4 kgms^-1
1b) 3.4/t
3.4/0.05 = F = 68N
2) mv = mv
5*3 = 1*v
5*3 = 15 ms^-1
sorry but i agree with you on all 3 ha
:)
