I have a series of questions:
does it hurt (scale of 1-10)?
how is it done exactly?
what is the best kind of body jewelry for a navel piercing?
how long does it take to heal?
how do you take care of it?

Mine hurt around a 3. The friend with me looked like hers was probably an 8.
First, the jewelry is picked and all instruments to be used (jewelry, needle, clamps, receiving tube, etc) are all sterilized in the autoclave. While that's happening, you can start working on placement. the piercer will make a dot and keep redoing it until it's perfectly centered. Then the area is cleaned, instruments are set up, you lay on the table. If they're using clamps (they guide the needle, some piercers use them, some don't) they put those on. Then the needle goes through, followed directly by the jewelry of choice. The needle may be received by a cork or metal receiving tube, piercer's choice. It's done bottom to top, in my experience. Wipe, look in the mirror, and go home.
I think curved barbells work better in healing navels. They don't get bumped or shifted as much as a ring does. While you're getting used to the piercing, you're less likely to snag a bar than a ring. I haven't personally found one easier to clean than the other, but people disagree on that a lot.
The piercing takes anywhere from 4-6 months to well over a year to heal, depending on your body and your aftercare.
You care for it by being careful with it, first. As for cleaning, you gently wash in the shower with either antibacterial soap or mild fragrance free soap. Then, about 3 times per day, you do a sea salt soak. It has to be sea salt- you don't use table salt. Mix 1/8-1/4 tsp into 1 cup of water. Heat in the microwave and soak your piercing in it. I always just dipped it into a shot glass and held that over the piercing. The heat and salt draw out inpurities and infection. You don't use alcohol-it is too drying. You don't use hydrogen peroxide-it kills both good and bad cells and will greatly slow your healing. You don't use bactine or other pharmacy wound treatments-you don't need them if you're treating the piercing right, and they're not made for puncture wounds anyway.
Good luck. I hope that was enough info!
Truthfully it didnt hurt me. I think the pain scale when pierced was 4/5 because they numb the area before hand.
They put a needle into the numbed skin then put a ring in. You have to keep the ring in until it heals. They often provide you with a solution but luke warm salty water is just as good. Dab the area with cotton wool soaked in the salty water.
I personally prefer the bars because they less likely to catch onto ur clothing plus a ring is pretty boring. With bars they come in different lenghts. colours, pretty stones etc plus more girly.
Cant remember how long mine took to heal its how often u bathe it and try not to knock it either.
Always sterilise the jewellry when you change it even new jewellry when you buy it from the shop. Plus always clean your navel in the bath or shower etc.
I pierced my bellybutton myself, (stupid I know!!) and it didnt even hurt, its just like a little pinch, but like everyone has said, pain tolerence is different for everyone
a needle is pushed up from under ur bellybutton, then the ring is then inserted. There are special belly rings you have to wear. The danglyones have a better chance of getting pulled out. it takes about hvave a year to hear. You can get a special solution for piercings, or you can use water peroxide, or alcohol. as long as you take care of it, it looks great!
Pain is different for everyone. Most likely about a 7.
A needle is pushed through your knis, then a ring/bar is inserted.
A ring.
2-3 months.
Wash it with nothing other than bactine.
Depends on your pain tolerance. Mine was about a 6. The thing with belly button rings is they take around 6-9 months to fully heal, so you have to watch about getting them caught on clothing, and also to be extra particular about cleaning it.
Here's a vid of the piercing process...
