Yes - you messed up, and yes - you will be in trouble with your parents. Now YOU need to take action to clean up the mess YOU made.

First, before your dad comes home, look on the internet and start searching simple science fair projects. Print out all the data, supplies, etc. Come with items in hand when you meet with your parents.

Second, explain to them that YOU messed up and will take responsibility for your actions. Show them your science fair idea that you want to present to your teacher tomorrow as a make-up.

Third, take that data to your teacher and BEG her to take your project in 24 hours with a 50% grade drop. (yes it's still an F, but 50% is better than 0%). If she says yes, then you have 24 hours to make the science fair project rock.

I have no idea what you expect any of us to do. You know what you should have done and you didn't do it. The best thing you can do, from a parent's perspective, is to acknowledge what you did wrong, come up with a plan to fix it, and execute the plan.

My suggestion to fix it is ask your teacher if you can do anything to make up for it...like an extra project or two.
