my little girls blue lip?
Tonight my wife and I are sitting on the couch and as my wife is feeding my 5 1/2 month old daughter she signals to me that her bottom lip right in the middle turned a blue color. this scares me alot and as we are new parents im not sure what to do or to think about it. I ask you guys WHAT DO I DO?

Is there pressure on the lip anymore? Make sure to try to keep pressure off the lip when possible.
Ok, whenever something weird is happening with the baby, your big warning signs are pupils not dilating or tracking, lethargy (more than usual), crying without stopping, or anything that spreads or persists for extended time (like, days) without getting any better.
I would keep an eye on her and if everything seems to be okay, just mention it at her next doctor's appointment.
If she had really not been getting enough oxygen her nail beds would have been blue as well.
Its probably a weird position that cut off blood flow to the lip, like when your foot falls asleep. Or it is possibly a bruise from some thing. My son once bit his tongue (no teeth) so hard that it turned black. It was fine in a few days, it faded to a normal bruise colour after about 6 hours.
If it happens consistently I might be concerned, or if it were a newborn.
Was she actually feeding her when this happened? Did it turn normal color when she stopped? It could have been the position of the lip.
call 911, her lips could be turning blue because she isn't getting enough oxygen. There could be something seriously wrong, get her to hospital asap. Better safe than sorry, could be causing brain damage.
Definitely get her to the hospital, she is lacking oxygen.
