I'm interested in photography and I just got a new camera(Canon Powershot S3 IS). I've put up some pictures ( twenty1down.blogspot.com ) and I would like some constructive criticism or compliments to increase my knowledge. I'm only fifteen and I literally just started being serious about this a little while ago, so be honest, but be nice please. Thank you.
When you visit my blog, I would love it if you followed me and continued to comment on pictures in the future so I can continue to learn. I am planning on updating every weekend.

Hi, I'm 15 as well, but I started when I was about 12, hopefully I can help :)
Here are some of your pictures that I REALLY like (and why):
Boat and Boy - This is an awesome picture, pictures including children usually always are, I like your view point as well, how you are above the image. Two things to improve this image: It is a bit over exposed, I dont know if this is you or the camera, and also it would be nice if you could see a bit more of the rocks and to bottom of the image
Feather - This is really cool, I like pictures that are taken from ground level! But make sure that you have the camera level with the ground!!!
Tall building - this is probably the best, I really like it! I love the sun reflecting of the curvy bridge and the sky! One thing to improve: Maybe shift the picture up a bit so there is less of the parking lot and bit more of the sky
And some pictures that didn't quite work:
Shopping cart - Ummm Im sorry but it looks like it was taken from a CCTV camera... sorry
Lake - not particularly imaginative,
Random street - exactly what your title says, RANDOM... umm yeah not much skill went into this picture
Crosswalk - I can see what your trying to do, but you didnt do it
Ok so basically you have some really awesome photo,s and you have some dud, but that is how we ALL LEARN! I would recommend that you get to know your camera in Manual mode (if it has that) have a look on the dial and see is there is a big M... if there is, this means you can control the exposure manually. If you dont know how to do this, then search online for some tutorials.
From what I have heard the canon power shot range is pretty good and you should have a nice camera that should last you, but if you want to get serious at photography then you eventually need to move onto a DSLR camera, those are those BIG ones with interchangeable lenses. I use the pentax k7, but there are hundreds out there and some quite cheap :)
So good luck with your photography and I hope that I helped.
