Some kids in my school were planning to do drugs after school today. Me and my friend Lizzy told when we overheard and now feel guilty. What sort of trouble will the popular kids get into?
If they're caught they'll probably be expelled, might go to juvie, might get in worse trouble. Don't feel guilty. Its against the law, and you were right to tell. What if something worse happened, like they died? Then you'd feel really guilty.
It all depends on whether or not the kids are caught with the drugs in their possession, or they are caught in the actual act of using them to get high. In either case, penalties can range from suspensions, to expulsion, to being arrested and spending time in jail or in juvenile detention. What punishment they get will also depend on how much of the drugs they have with them, and on your school's policy concerning drug use by students. Sweetie, you shouldn't feel guilty about telling on these other kids- you and Lizzie did the right thing. Drug use can be very, very DANGEROUS to kids- and overdoses can kill. My thinking is that these other kids probably think that because they are popular, they can get away with doing anything they want to. Being caught and punished is probably the best thing which can happen to them right now, and efforts will also be made to see that these girls get some professional help so they can work through their own problems. Another thing to think about is that you may have saved these kids' lives by turning them in. What if one of them had overdosed on the drugs they were planning to do? It's doubtful that the others would know what to do, or even how to call for help in an emergency like that. Their most likely response would be to panic and run away, and hope that no one ever found out about it- even if this meant one or more of their friends would die. Kids your age aren't old enough or mature enough to think about this kind of thing the way grownups do, sweetie. You shouldn't ever feel guilty for doing the right thing- in fact, you are to be congratulated for it, because it takes a lot of courage to do what you did. It's hard to turn in a friend, and even harder when it is someone you have to face every day in class or on the playground. I am sorry that your friends are going to be punished, but I for one am proud of you for standing up and having the courage to act when others wouldn't. I am sure that your mom and dad will be very proud of you too, especially if it turns out that what the kids were planning to do was true. Good luck to you, and congratulations !!
Suspended from school for 1 week. Kicked off ALL extracurricular activities. The authorities will be notified. Probably probation with random drug testing. You better hope they were serious, and not just kidding around because they can get into a lot of trouble. I honestly think you should just let them get into trouble by themselves. I know plenty of people who got beat up because they snitched. I would just stay out of it and let them ruin their life.
police and getting sent out of school. it was right to tell cause what if they doped up and killed someone. don't feel bad about it was the right thing to do:)
