Are your kids named after anyone or anything? How did you pick?
BQ: Do your kids have nicknames? If so, do you always use the nickname?
Update:her Ellie.
I have no idea why the "her Ellie" got erased earlier :)

When I name my children, they will be after people. We have chosen names from both sides to honour everyone close to us (for example: our parents, grandparents, siblings, close friends, etc.) When my parents named me and my sibs, all of our middle names were after someone. My oldest brother was named after my Father, and would have been named after my Mother if he had of been a girl. My youngest brother was named after a close friends of my parents who died before he was born, and they believed it sounded good with his name. I was the middle child, and suppose to be the last one. So, I was given a name that was in both families to honour both families in one person.
So, since my parents told me those stories I decided that my children would have middle names that meant something to me and my significant other. Especially when I found out my boyfriend has his middle name because his parents liked how it sounded....
BQ: My goal when I name my children is to give them names that they can get nicknames out of them, because I grew up without a nickname out of my name and would have liked it if I could have had a nickname. But, if I have the same issue as you with the ISabella, I would put the record straight. I do like the name Isabella, and liked it before Twilight. Isabelle is on my list, but I would call her Belle after Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
I really like your children's names, they're great names. :)
My son is named James Michael. James is after my uncle. My uncle is a huge inspiration to me. He was born blind but he has never let that affect his life. He is one of the happiest people i know. He never had any children so i thought naming my son after him would be a great way to honor him. Michael is my husbands name. He is such a great husband and father. I love him so much :)
Edit- sorry i didn't see the BQ
BQ- We plan on calling him James because my uncle goes by Jim or Jimmy and it would be confusing. I would consider nicknaming him Jamie if he ended up liking Jamie more.
I named my son SAHIL wich in my language means Ocean, i picked it because its unique and i personaly like unique names!
It took me ages to decide on a name for my daughter, there were so many but the only name i realy liked was ALICIA (pronounced as Alisha) so i gave her that name, my son never had a nick name but when my daughter was a baby we gave her the nickname KAKA wich means Baby! Lol my friend started calling her that and it just stuck with her until she reached the age of 3 then we stoped and now jus call her Alicia :)
I'm not a mom, but my parents waited to the last minute for almost every one of us and decided in the hospital. They only thought ahead for our new baby. Ryann Ashley, November 15, 2011.
BQ: Caroilne "Carley", Megan "Meg", Jaedan "Jay", Levi, Sofie "Soph", and Ryann "Ry Ry".
They always call me Meg, Caroline Carley and Jaedan Jay. They call Sofie Soph right now since she's only four, but I don't know if that will last. And Ryann is only 5 days old, so I don' really know yet!
My first daughter was named somwhat after her father. His name is Kendall and hers is Kenadia. I found it online. Her middle name I chose during delivery. Its Isabella. And I didn't know how popular it was in 2006.
My second daughter almost didn't have a name. She was due the week after the Super Bowl this year and we are Steelers fans. My husband joked that she would be name Polamalu if she came. He shortened it to Malu and well, I like odd names and it stuck. We liked. Her name is Amalu, her daddy named her. He chose Mishewa from the baby name book he bought me. It is Tibetan for "Sent from heaven"
named my first anthony bc i loved that name since a child and named all my boy dollies Anthony Elijah, and his nickname is ant. His dad chose middle name.
second son, my husband chose first name and i chose middle name, his name is Jaden Jacob

Chose our children's names by considering the origin of our last name which is French. So, my son's name is Raymond Michael, named after my dad and brother. My daughter's name is Simone Marie, Simone cause it is french, and Marie cause that's my cousin's name (we were close as children).
he was concieved while me and his mother were watching the exorcist. So I named him after Dante's inferno.
joking, though both facts are true they were not intentionally related it was just coincidence. I chose the name Dante because it means ever lasting or infinite, as he will be the one to carry on my bloodline. also because Dante Alighieri's position of battling evil throughout his life. And I just like the name Dante.
Mine was picked with the middle names of my biological grandmothers. No nicknames, except ones that are cheesy.
My son isn't named after anyone but we chose the spelling 'Zachery' to match his dad's spelling 'Jeffery' - the 'ery' is kinda like a tradition thing in the family. We call him 'Zack' or 'Zackie' almost exclusively though.
