Hi!
My boyfriend and I Will be travelling to Vietnam in March for there weeks. The last week we Will be spend in The South of Vietnam and I Will be grateful for some advice. We are thinking of going to Phu Quoc Island (i see http://www.vietnambeachshow.com/phu-quoc-island-a-... ), Mekong delta and Ho Chi Minh City. We have 7 days.
We could travel by land through Mekong delta, take The boat to Phu Quoc Island and fly back to Ho Chi Minh City. Or we could maybe fly both ways Ho Chi Minh - Phu Qouc Ho Chi Minh, and then maybe just take a one Day trip from HCMC to The Mekong Delta. Or we could skip The Mekong delta and just do HCMC and Phu Qouc Island. What Would you recommend? If you had 7 days in The South of Vietnam how Would you spend Them?

Personally I would do the delta, but I'm not so keen on staying still on a beach. If beaches are important to you, that's not a bad place to go. I find the Mekong delta interesting (see more http://www.luckyvietnamtravel.com/the-mekong-delta... ) (the early morning small-boat trip from Can Tho is very enjoyable, as are some of the small towns and a homestay in Vinh Long) but you won't have too much time there and travel is slow so you need to plan carefully. Saigon is a terrific city if you stay away from the seedy backpacker area.
Trying to fit too much in can ruin it all; you see little and spend a lot of time on the ride. I would research carefully and pick the the two places that most appeal to you.
