when u r breastfeeding the babys poo is more runny but if u r bottle feeding the babys poo is more solid if he has belly ache he will lift his legs up if u have any more problems go to the clinic were u have baby weighed and they will help u thats what they r therefore ok good luck i have six kids and i know what i am talking about ok. lol

The fact that he has pooed this morning shows that he is not constipated. He is probably digesting the formula and reacting to that.

Please try not to worry at this stage. I know it's hard, us mum's worry about everything, particularly when our wee ones are still little!

I was unable to continue breast feeding after about a week so I cannot talk from experience, but I would have thought that if he has been feeding non stop as you suggest, your milk may well have not had the full nutrients in it and therefore he has been drinking 'watered down' milk. If my theory is right, this may explain why he is showing signs of now having a 'heavy' meal on his tummy. More importantly, if I am right, I would also surmise that giving yourself a rest between some feeds with formula, will give you a rest and therefore will help you with your milk production

give his tummy a rub lie him on his back and rub his tummy if its wind this will help and if he is constipated this will also help so you win both ways

stick to the bottle or the breast if you chop and change you will confuse him and may make the constipation worse

warm boiled water will help the constipation no need for drugs of any kind unless the doc says so

warm water will help wind and bowl movents

It can take up to a week for a baby to get used to formula. It is safe to use infant suppositories (My son was almost 3 months early and the nurses at Children's hospital used these on him). If doesn't go withing 48 hours call his doctor.

My son used to have constipation when he was a baby and I use to lie him on his tummy across my lap and gently rub his back. I don't know why but it always seemed to work. He liked it too... lol Good luck with your little bundle of joy xxxxxxxx

sit him on ur knee and support his chin with ur hand, rub his back clockwise with ur other hand. dont lie him on his tummy as if he has belly ache it could make it worse. if it is constipation go c GP when u can if this happens a lot and they can give u stuff for his bottles gaviscon powder sachets

Ok...that grunting means he has gas, you need to burp him...you can hold him on your knee and support his chin with one of your hands and lean him a little forward and burp him like that , or lay him on your legs and pat him like that...if he continues, rub his back....theres not much you can do, just burp him till that sucker (bur) comes out, p.s..formula tends to create more gas than breastmilk
