Four months ago, you might not have had any external signs of puberty - but suddenly - BAM! there they all are. Doc should've explained that they are all interanl for the first year anyhow, as your body goes about producing hormones - the chemical changes which bring on puberty.

Now would be a good time to spend researching puberty online so you are informed. That way, you will know about the changes before they occur; and it won't feel so weird.

If pubic hair has started growing then yes, you are in puberty. Perhaps this wasn't the case 4 months ago during your visit to the doctor. You should also be growing taller and gaining weight.
