Its hot and the rain lasts longer than any other western country. I would suggest not flashy clothing otherwise people will just stare at you. No flashy bags or purses.. At least make sure that your bag is secure, thieves will have you as a target.

Wear comfortable clothing. You can also wear pyjamas while you go out to a corner shop because it's quite normal in Vietnam, lol.. They don't really notice. My brother wore his boxers out, xD.

They are racist if your black. like me when i went there people hate you (I'm black Canadian) but when i get sunburned i turn from black to deep red. In Ho Chi Minh City when they see me sunburned they are not racist to you, they are actually interested in you. but take jackets. there is a lot of wind.
