Urban life photography?
I want to take pictures of urban photography/street photography so i can hang up in my room(my room is going to have a modern/urban theme). I want to turn them black and white. But the thing is i live nowhere near the city(3 hours away), i live in the hamptons where it's basically all beach and woods. What would i be able to take pictures of that have an urban feel to it. I was thinking cars? But what else?
BTW i'm not using film i want to do it digitally. I have a Nikon D40.

Lots of places like bus stops, train stations, shopping areas. Anywhere that shows people being busy. Blur out the background if the area looks too "country" and concentrate on the people.
Find some run-down looking buildings and do a close up of crumbling bricks, mess and graffiti.
Good luck with it..... not everybody likes having their photo taken (bring a long lens and play paparazzi), and many security guards go crazy as soon as they see a "real" camera.
How about shopping? It's the Hamptons...there's gotta be some great shops and lots of interesting people to take pictures of.

You might want to get on a train and head into NYC.
