I plan on going to see my friend in South Carolina I live in Florida. I plan on driving and I would have a GPS but I still don't feel comforable about going. It would be cheaper to drive so I don't want to go on a plane. But I feel like I won't be able to do it. I'll be 18 when I go. I'm seventeen now. Do you think I'll be fine? or do you think I need to go with my gut feeling that I shouldn't do it.

Driving that distance really shouldn't be a problem. There were thousands of people doing it successfully before there was ever GPS technology. However, you know best your driving skill and comfort level with making this trip on your own. If you're still uncomfortable driving that far on your own when the time approaches, then you can look into taking the bus ( http://www.greyhound.com/ ) or the train ( http://www.amtrak.com/home ) or a combination of the two depending on where you live.
If there's a local university or college, you could also look into the ride board at the school and see if you can arrange a ride share that way.
