In the fall, I'll have cross country. Last year, I was MVP. This year, a girl that plays soccer and was voted "the best" in track is joining. My mile time is ANYWHERE from 7 minutes to 9 minutes. Hers is 6:48. I want to stay the best, stay the MVP. How could I train and work to remain the best. (Cross country starts around September 15th). Please help!!?!!

You have 2 months, so start training now. 3 runs thro' the week and along trail run at the weekend.
Have a look thro' the training programme below, obviously don't all the workouts, do miss out 2 or three for the first 2-3 weeks.
Your mile time over a shorter running distance will be quicker than your mile time when you are doing a longer distance, my 10K miles are 7.20, my Half miles are 8.30.

Is her name Sophie if it is or even if it is not if you want to improve you time then you should ask her if you could run with her this way she will push you to do better than you have done. if you want more advice then please add me here and we can talk about improving your times. please understand that i will do any thing in my power to help this other girl to so please do not feel bad. she is fast and so are.
