I've got some of those old caramel dipper things from the McDonald's happy meals, and I was wondering if raccoons would go for that because it is sweet and has a good smell. ( they are just packets of caramel)
Update:This is also during heavy snowfall so I need to know if the smell will travel far enough for them to get it. If not, tell me what would work, other than sardines, everyone always recommends using them, I do, but I want to hear some new thoughts.

we've caught two coons within 2 weeks of leaving a can of tuna in the live trap and then poured corn in the cage so that they would have to go in and eat it. works great! but u can always give carmel a shot. wouldnt hurt. Good luck!
They would love something like that. Anything that is fish related works really well too. Good luck.
