So back in November i was arrested for shoplifting febreze. I went to court this month and i was convicted w/ a misdemeanor, which will be dismissed in 90 days, when i complete my community service.
I have an interview Friday as a child/infant swim instructor. I feel horrible, and i understand that now i have to pay the consequence to my mistake, but i really want to get the job. I love working with kids, and im not a bad person. So i was thinking that at the end of my interview i would be upfront about my conviction. Do you think this will affect my chances of getting the job?

Being upfront is your best option regardless of how it affects your chances. In a position involving work with children there is usually a background check including criminal record.

yes be upfront. it might affect you getting the job, there's so many people unemployed with no record.
its a toughie, personally i would coz i would admire the honesty and integrity but we are living in a world full of knob heads, good luck anyway
