So back in November i was arrested for shoplifting febreze. I went to court this month and i was convicted w/ a misdemeanor, which will be dismissed in 90 days, when i complete my community service.
I have an interview Friday as a child/infant swim instructor. I feel horrible, and i understand that now i have to pay the consequence to my mistake, but i really want to get the job. I love working with kids, and im not a bad person. So i was thinking that at the end of my interview i would be upfront about my conviction. Do you think this will affect my chances of getting the job?

Yes! Even though I believe you're a good person, but as an employer, I will have to consider that. You are not he only person trying to get this job! The employer gets to set down and pick who they think are he most fit. If I was the employer, I would have definitely given you a chance, but with our economy things are getting tougher. When they do the background check, there's a big chance they'll find your conviction though, good luck!
