I think i remember reading an article that some guy did some sort of test to see. He concluded that we would not see time travel in the near future (100-200 years) and it would take up way too much energy. If it even was, we would only be able to go back to the time we created the portal/gate. That is what i understand from the mind-numbing videos we watched in highschool. On a side-note, i would like to meet Ben Franklin to see how smart he was compared to smart people nowadays
Time travel is possible but not in the way of meeting and talking to people in the pass. You would have to go great speed to catch up with light from the past.
But, it is interesting that it has been theoretically proven that time slows down with actual travel-speed that approaches the speed of light. It's unlikely that mankind will ever devise vehicles that can transport man at that degree of speed, but experiments in particle acceleration may be enlightening.
If I were able to time travel, I would avoid messing with the past to avoid the obvious possibility of screwing up my own birth. But, being able to travel (CAREFULLY) into the future would be a real kick.
Actually traveling trough time impossible, (from what we know now) but you could experience high levels of time dilation allowing you to live longer and meet someone in 500 years if you can reach near light speed or have a black hole in your pocket.
You can accelerate yourself far into the future, but I suspect that you can't go backwards. Without going into a PhD thesis, entropy drives time forward and makes going backwards impossible or require more energy than is in the visible universe to accomplish.

If it is then why don't we see any travelers from the future (or even the past, as implied in H. G. Wells' story) visiting us?
I'm not really a people person, so I can't think of anyone I would want to meet. At least not someone I want to meet more than anyone alive today.
No.

You travel forward in time each day of your life. When you observe stars and galaxies,
you are, in a way, traveling back in time because you're seeing them as they were
light-years ago. So, in a sense, you time-travel every day. As for physically transporting
yourself into the past, I don't believe there's any evidence of a way to accomplish this.
Of course, a hundred years ago, a trip to Mars, or even the Moon would have seemed
like a Buck Rogers fantasy, so who knows?
If time travel were possible, I would like to go back and spend some"quality" time
with Elvis. :)
1)Via faster-than-light (FTL) travel
2)Using wormholes.
3) By travelling close to the speed of light.
With current technology ,its not possible....we can wait for some cyborg from the future,

Time travel is only possible in science fiction, not in real life.
No! We can only see light from the past, as it takes time to reach our eyes.
