I started writing my book down on a notebook and now I have free time and want to type it up on the computer. I am on page three and it seemed a little spaced out to me, so I went up to my book shelf and flipped through a few of my books. Most of them are typed in "No Spacing" format and I am typing in "Normal" Dose it matter which way you type in up in? I want to send it in to an agency and try to get it published (I know that it's hard to get things published. I don't care) Do agencies need it in a certain way? (I just started writing it and I haven't done any research. I just want people's opinions) Has anyone written a book?

there probably is a certain way they will ask for it, but until it's finished, you should type it in a way that is easy for you to read. it's extremely easy to change the spacing of a document, so you should make it easier for you to write. i would recommend double space, because if you go through it to edit, it is easier to not skip something, also, an editor will probably ask for double spaced rough drafts since its easier to make notes on.
Look at the agent's website and check their requirements. Most want a ms double spaced with a plain font like 12 pt, Times New Roman. But best to check.
try to consider these "3 Keys How To Write A Book With Ease".
1. KNOW YOUR READER- traditionally, we are writing a book because we have some personal ideas in mind and want to share it with others. We want to share our own ideas, experiences to everybody without thinking if is it what our readers wants, if that is what they need? we focus n ourselves and forgetting the purpose why we are writing and it is for our readers.
2. CREATE A STRUCTURE-make an outline for your book so it would be so easy for you to edit or add any changes.
3. FILL IN THE BLANKS- " the road to someday will leads to a town of nowhere". We always say that I want to write a book someday, if I am ready enough to do it, etc and this will leads us to nowhere. if you want to write a book then start it NOW. this fill in the blanks is somewhat try to imagine yourself as the readers, ask yourself a questions what you want to know, what are your expectations from a book, questions that you think will probably the one that your readers are asking, etc and when you can answer it, you are now aware what are the needs of your readers.
And if you were able to follow this simple steps, then you are in the right track.
Changing formats is easy. If you don't know how, learn.
Correct formatting for publishers is Times New Roman, 12 point, double spaced, first line indented 5pts, no extra space between paragraphs.
