lets say someone created a time machine does that mean we are able to travel back to the time of the byzantium empire? or can we only travel back to the day and time the machine was made? i thought i heard that from somewhere but i am doubtful. can you guys explain in detail which one is true? Also is my idea about paradoxes correct? like if i go back in time shoot my great great grandpa and he dies. does that mean that i would have never been born to shoot my grandpa and then i couldve still been born? Is time travelling backwards even possible? and if it is can i alter the pass could i have save martin luther king or lincoln from being assissinated?

Unless you went back in time and went to a remote island... well nah that still wouldn't work cause someone would probably find you, then that would probably affect what they're thinking at a certain moment which changes their actions, which changes someone else's actions, it's like tracking a dollar bill. Probably, if you made it so that you couldn't be born so you couldn't make so you couldn't be born, the universe would implode. I don't think the universe wants to implode. Back to the Future somewhat discusses this, but it doesn't go into the consequences of every single action. And no it's especially not possible with our technology and I don't think it ever will be possible so how far back is a moot point. However, if it did somehow become possible I think you probably could go back before the time machine was made, but there would probably be government restrictions to prevent the possibility of the very fabric of our lives getting destroyed and the universe imploding. Look, questions like these are fun but they don't mean anything unless you're enjoying some dank weed. It's sad but true.
Oh and if there was a time travel portal or teleport portal which almost functions in the same way (if you think about it) you would just come out as a blast of energy at the other end. Matter cannot survive that type of thing. Like I said, you gotta be trippin.
You cannot ever travel back in time. It is a paradox. You also cannot "travel" to the future. The only real time travel method is to accelerate extremely fast. And I mean approaching light speed fast. Keep traveling this speed for x amount of time. Let's say a year. The quicker an object travels, the less it is affected by time. When the year is up, you'll appear to age a day, while everyone else will have aged 10 years. (These are not accurate numbers, just an example.)
Well according to Stephen Hawking time travel to the past Is impossible. As far as your grandpa paradox it sounds right like everything would just reset and you and your grandpa would be alive again. However if you believe in the Biblical God which I do that opens up a hole new can of worms, cause if you did that now you have to figure in the fact that you have a spirit and if you go back in time and kill your grandpa what happens to your spirit and your spirit. Im no physics expert anyways just a scifi fan.
From what I've heard in order to time travel into the future you need to go close to the speed of light. In theory if you go faster than the speed of light then you'd be going into the past. Everything you see is just reflected light. So maybe if you tried to go into the past you would be able to see a your grandpa but it would only be light and nothing would be there. Im not really sure if I explained this right but I remember reading something about time travel
Let's say someone breeds pigs with wings, how fast would they fly?
There are no logical answers to questions based on illogical assumptions.
My point...a time machine for traveling into the past is impossible. So don't even bother thinking about it.
Someone mentioned Hawking...I strongly recommend you watch "Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking" on the Discovery Channel. He spends an hour showing why time travel into the past is impossible and travel into the future is something we do every day. Check it out and find out why.
I often prefer floor holiday, yet for long journeys, air holiday is plenty quicker, so i ought to apply it if i'm in a huge hurry. i've got moved from the East Coast to the West Coast, and definitely one of those holiday takes approximately 4 or 5 days via vehicle, if i don't end long everywhere, yet there is plenty exciting environment alongside the way that I pass over via air holiday.
I do not believe that is is possible acording to physics. And if you went back in time and changed something it could greatly change the world today so it's not a good idea at all.
Time machines don't exist except in fiction, so they work however the writer wants them to.
You step into a portal and **** goes down and all of a sudden your where ever you want
time travel is impossible......
well near impossible atleast
