C chord - C, E, G together
F chord - F, A, C together.
Some others..
D chord - D, F#, A together
E chord - E, G#, B together
G chord - G, B, D together
A chord - A, C#, E together
B chord - B, D#, F# together.
These are all MAJOR chords.
Then there are MINOR chords.
You should get a few lessons, otherwise you'll never understand. Actually, this site may help you. It has every chord on the guitar and shows you where you place your fingers. Still, a teacher can help you do it easier so you don't give up. It's hard, and you need to be shown.

Edit -
You are right about the order of the strings, but they are only open strings. The other notes are found by going up and down the frets by pressing you finger down and plucking. If you know where B is on the guitar it's an open string, press your index finger down on the first fret, pluck and it will play C. It's in alphabetical order up and down.
Okay well let's say 1 = e (Smallest String) And 6 = E (Thickest String)
1 Should Be Played Open
2 Should have your index finger on the First Fret
3 should be Played Open
4 Should be Played with Middle Finger (Or ring finger) on the 2nd fret
5th string Should be played with Ring Finger (or if you play 4 with your ring finger then the pinky)
6 Should be not be played at all.
F:
1st and 2nd string should have the first fret down so Put your index finger laying across both of them
3rd String should have the 2nd fret down
4rth String Should have the 3rd Fret Down
5th String played open
6th String should not be played.
A C chord consists of the notes: C, E, G (in this order, C being the lowest note).
F chord consists: F, A,C (in this order, F being the lowest note).
This website should help you out. It shows visually where to position your fingers on what strings and frets.

(the long yellow thing means you hold down both those strings)
