We home school, and each year we try to take on BIG family vacation......we went to St. Augustine 2 years ago, then England last year-we are trying to plan our next one (Spring, 2008), so we would like your input-what is a FUN and EDUCATIONAL place on the eastern coast of America that my family and I could visit (please tell me the educational value of each place? Our kids range in ages from 3 to 17, and our vacation would be for about a week. We have been considering Colonial Williamsburg, Philidelphia, and Salem, but we'd like to hear some other ideas.

well lets see my father is a history buff of american history. He loved philidelphia he spent about a week there. Lost of history there like independence hall, the liberty bell, and ben franklin's grave and insitute.
Now one place to go to is Washingon D.C. i went with my parents last summer and there is so much to take in. I got to dress like an indian and as a colonial young woman in Williamsburg, there is Monticllo (thomas jefferson's home), Iwagema statue, Yorktown. Lots of place Oh and of course you see the white house, and lots of museums.
boston is fun to, but i never went there. lol
try going to http://www.18ktravel.com/ to see some vacation packages.
I recommend Washington, DC. There are many museums including the Smithsonian, national monuments, tours including the Whitehouse and just about everything is free.
