When I was twenty -- six years old, I was a client in a work program for people with special needs . This program had a cafeteria so their clients could try food service work . I worked in this cafeteria for a while. One day, I had to wash a bunch of dishes . I washed the food particles away from a pot, so I decided it was clean . The supervisor handed this pot back to me and said “Mike, this pot isn’t clean !” . I washed it again, and she handed it back to me, and said “Mike, this pot still isn’t clean !” . This went on several more times . When she had handed it back to me and said “Mike, this pot still isn’t clean !” for the seventh time, I probably should have thrown it on the floor and yelled “WHY THE HELL NOT ??!!” .
The assistant manager finally told me "The pot's greasy ! That's what she's complaining about !" . I flet like saying "I suppose it would have killed Cindy ( the supervisor ) to tell me that !" . The grease inside this pot was absolutely invisible . As far as I could tell, it was 100% clean . Obviously, I didn’t get much training or instruction .
I've brought this situation up in Yahoo ! Answers before, and I've had people say
"A supervisor should give you guidance so you can do the job correctly .", "Your supervisor could have been a whole lot nicer . Certain types of people shouldn't be in power .", "She probably wanted you to figure out for yourself what was wrong with it .", "Why did you have to be told what you're doing wrong ? Couldn't you see the grease ? I think she was trying to teach you to look for yourself .", and "Handing it back to you seven times wasted time for both of you ." ,
This supervisor probably thought "Mike needs to learn this job !" . While working in this cafeteria, I learned "There needs to be a law saying I can't work in a kitchen in any way, shape, or form !" . There have been times when I've said "Albert Einstein became a university professor because he wasn't smart enough to work in a restaurant !" .
The other day, my friend Carl said "She probably figured somebody who's twenty -- six years old should know how to wash dishes !" . I grew up washing dishes in a dishwasher . I'll bet a lot of people my age grew up washing dishes in a dishwasher, and never washed dishes by hand .
Was this supervisor the right person to work with people who have special needs ? What was wrong with saying “Mike, this pot is all greasy !” ? Was there any point in frustrating both of us ? Why couldn’t I have been told what I was doing wrong ?
What's wrong with a law saying I can't work in a kitchen in any way, shape, or form ? Should somebody who's twenty -- six years old know how to wash dishes ? Didn't a lot of people my age grew up washing dishes in a dishwasher ? Am I wrong ? How am I wrong ? Thank you in advance for your answers .

Yes, any person working in food service should know how to wash dishes by hand.
(I am however surprised that the cafeteria doesn't have a mechanical dishwasher.) You can't just wipe off the visible food particles and call something clean. There's 3 steps to dish washing: 1) wash in hot soapy water, 2) rinse in hot water, 3) sanitize in a water/bleach mixture. (This is what the 3-compartment sinks that you see in restaurants are all about.)
Your supervisor of course did not handle the situation properly, and obviously you were given no training in proper dish washing. Generally there's just a small food safety handbook that you read. In fact, you really shouldn't have been allowed to work in a food service place like the cafeteria unless you had a food handler's permit. (Same handbook and a short test to get one.)
No government agency is going to pass a law just for your specific case. However, if your condition or disability makes it difficult for you to work in such environments, your doctor or case worker would sign such a statement.

I notice that you asked this again with the title:
'I'm not getting the answers I'm looking for ...?'
Well, all that means is that you are looking for someone to tell you what you want to hear. You're not interested in reading other peoples' valid opinions on your question.
So here it is:
No, you were not wrong.
