I purchased an item on ebay and when it took longer to arrive than it was meant to, I decided to check my account. When I got there, I found that the seller had closed their account and obviously, I didn't get my item. Is there anything I can do to get my money back?
Update:I don't have a paypal account so I can't open a case with them...

Yup, this happened exactly because you didn't use paypal. All you can do is report them to Ebay now. Since their account is closed I doubt there's anything they can do. Hope you didn't lose too much money.
If its less than 45 days since you paid, you can raise a dispute through PayPal. Hopefully they haven't totally skipped and PayPal can get your money back. It's important that you only buy from established eBay sellers so you don't get scammed. Sadly there are scammers out there. Only buyer from sellers with over 50 completed sales with 99% feedback (one or two negs aren't bad, just read them. Some buyers are just impossible to please).
you can report it to e bay they may be able to help, also your bank and the police. in future always pay by paypal its free, easy and you are totally protected, i have always got my money back from them. use paypal on all internet purchases
