I will be studying abroad in Jordan this summer and, during my trip, we have a 4-5 day break. During this break, the other participants and I want to take a trip to Beirut. We looked into flying there, but it's like $300+ per person and we really don't wanna spend that type of money. So, we wanted to take a bus. But, to get from Jordan to Lebanon, you have to travel through Syria. I know Syria isn't the safest place to visit right now, but is simply taking a bus through the country a dangerous idea? We would be in the country probably less than 3 hours and we'd be on a bus the whole time, besides getting out briefly when crossing borders for customs and such. We're all US citizens if that changes anything

Hello, I think you can take this road.. ofcourse there is a little risk but I know the legal ports between Syria-jordan and syria-lebanon are controlled by the state..so that is ok.. you just should be careful not to stop inside Syria specially in no man's lands.. If you were stopped by syrian army don't worry they won't disturb you.. the only risk is coming from rebels-islamic fighters-..
Very imprtant thing to make sure your papers are all legal and you have vissas for syria and lebanon.. good luck.
Oh I forgot to mention i am syrian..
