Are they collectables? Probally not... and therefore they are not fragile.

An aditional note, the suggestions posted so far only get rid of 'some' of the surface mold. You need to fully submerge the toys because there are mold spores INSIDE them.

And NO, putting them inside a pillow case traps the dirt and mold inside the pillow case, you would need something with larger pores to allow the dirt to permate the membranic fabric.

I would personally recommend using fungicide to kill the mold (Yes, mold is alive), then using a vat of hot water + soap to decontaminate the toy.

I personally would not worry about the fungicide, as long as you use a comercial strength brand it would be all right, but there are far more fatal illnesses associated with mold... your choice.

The best way I have found is to put them (5-6) in a small pillow case and then either tie it shut, or safety pin it shut. Then just wash as normal - you can even put them in the dryer afterward.

They get really clean and won't get damaged at all.

I wouldn't trust them, even with being washed. I would throw them out and buy her all new ones

warm water, mild soap, and a tooth brush. it may take a while, but it should take care of the problem. if not, you may have to resort to a flame thrower.

Remove tags & put in a pillow case...delicate...warm water..GOOD LUCK- so sorry this happened to you!!

Take them to the cleaners.
