Before you find some traveling team, I would sign up for a local beginning softball league. That's the best way to learn the game, and decide if you want to move on the the next level.
Travel teams are not hard to find in California. But your 17 you shouldn't be still playin travel baseball with just any team. You should join a god team like club all star or NorCal grizzlies were they work a lot of drills and baseball specific conditioning to help prove your game
if you have no experience then travel baseball might not be for you. Im playin high school ball now and have played for some elite travel teams and they look for above average ball players
Do baseball clinics and ask some people who play baseball to train you I've played softball since I was 7 and I still do clinics and my parents pay softball players who were good and will teach me some things that I haven't learnt yet
okay rob, travel teams are comprised of the better players, who have shown some skills, etc. you don't just decide to play and join a travel team (and they're the washington generals).
find a local, tryout or play, and just keep trying to get better.
at 17, better get on an accelerated program, meaning extra coaching, weights, reading, etc.
yep pretty sure it does on my travel team it cost $600 for instate tournaments and prolly a total of $1000 for hotels and out of state tournaments etc.
