In 5th gear it backfires and hesitates a lot, i figured it was the transmission but somebody told me it wasn't. Its hard to turn on in the cold now, before i never had any problems with it in the cold or heat but now it idles and shuts off and idle is not steady anymore. It has lost lots of power. Can anybody plz help?

Vacuum leak causing mixture/timing problems. Plug vac line to EGR valve to check the EGR valve for a vac leak. No, it's not the tranny. Tranny's don't backfire, engines do. You are under the most engine load in the higher gears, so engine problems tend to show up there.
Without seeing it, it's difficult to diagnose. I believe the 92' still had a distributor so you may need a cap and rotor. Possible also, you have a faulty mass air flow.
Nope.
Fuel pump is worn out.
Yes, it's in the tank.
sounds like your timing is off or need a new timing chine.
might be a cracked distributer also, 2nd 1 easier to repair and cost less
good luck
