I have a snow board that i was given by a friend, i was told it needs waxed? maybe this isnt the case, i have tried using it, and it doesnt really umm, cruise? haha it doesnt really go any where at all no matter what im trying to board on, it is quite rough on the bottom lol, i was just wondering, if it actually does need waxed? if thats possible? maybe its just done for? idk, if it does need waxed, it would be nice to know, and where to go, maybe how much this will cost me? or if i just need to throw it out and get a new one.
thanks so much

Yes, snowboards can be waxed, and that is most likely what it needs. I wax my own snowboard, but it can be done at many winter sports outlet stores. It should not cost more than about $20, but if I were you, I would get a complete tune up on the board. In the end, it is a better deal.
You should take your board to a shop and have it tuned. They should sharpen the edges, detune the nose and tail, stone-grind the base, and hot-wax your board. If all of these are done to your board, it will cruise just fine.
yes it should probably be waxed. It costs about 10 bucks for a good hot wax
