Alright so my cable snapped and i ordered a new one. I followed it through exactly how the old one was and hooked it into place on the engine end. But i cannot hook it on the clutch handle end! It doesnt seem long enough but i know its right because i placed it right next to the older one. Why wont it "fit"? Its a 2004 kawasaki zx6r. thanks a bunch!

Is the adjustment screw turned all the way in on the lever,or is it screwed out all the way.Do it the other way,put it on the lever first, then where it connects on the bottom, you can use a wrench to turn it(dis-engage) and put that end on last.
Zx6r Clutch
There are two adjustment areas, one at the engine case one at the upper lever.
Loosen both, fasten the bottom end of the cable first, remove the upper lever, insert end of cable, replace lever.
Tighten the bottom adjustment than go to the top adjustment screw. About an 1/8 to 1/4" free play at the top lever.
the old cable was streched, so the new one is shorter by a fraction of an inch - back off all the adjustments until you can install the new cable then adjust for a small amount of free play
