Vietnam is the in place to visit right now. If you start in Hanoi make sure to take the night train to Sapa and stay at the Mountain View Hotel. (Great views and inexpensive) It could be the highlight of your trip. Take the 2 day tour to Halong Bay. Very nice. Then start south bound. I firmly believe that Hoi An is the best place to visit in Vietnam. The ancient town is a World Heritage city and absolutely beautiful. The beach is white sand and 40 kilometers long. A great place to relax and eat great food. The Mango Rooms is noted as one of the best restaurants in Vietnam. The Sleepy Gecko has bike tours that are just amazing. So my overall vote of a place to visit in Vietnam is Hoi An.
Vietnam is really inexpensive. Hotels cost about $10 a night. Of course you can pay much more if you have the budget. You can find beer at less than 15 cents a glass. The people are wonderful.
Pass on Nha Trang unless you like multi story buildings on the beach although many people love the area. Dalat is great if a bit corny and cool during the hot summer months. Saigon is always and experience.
Phu Quoc is beautiful but the pollution was pretty bad. Parts were very nice though the Mekong is great with lots of things to see but you can do it in a couple of days. You are going to have a great time. I went around the world to many different countries. I have been on the road for over two years. I like Hoi An. It’s the best.
We holiday in Vietnam every summer. We spend at least a month in Hue, they have a nice local beach with out a lot of people. Hue also has a ancient citidel, palace, kings tombs, great food, friendly people and reasonable prices.
My brother in law and I also spend a week in the Hanoi area. So many good day tours to go on from there. Halong Bay, HaiPhong, Ninh Binh, Sapa, Hoa Binh and that isn't counting the beautiful city itself.
I am sure you will find a place that you will enjoy staying. Have a good trip. Cheers C
OI! I envy you! I spent 4 too short years in Vietnam! So, IMHO you provide VN too little time - yet i'm no longer a diver. (Ong Jon has various sturdy archives on VN!) Do a google search for on Sapa and Bat Trang village. both are well worth seeing! i love Hanoi. inspect the Water Puppet Theater in the evening, by utilising Hoan Kiem Lake. Hue is exciting, Nha Trang is a coastline motel city with sturdy nutrition, once you've VNese friends who can help you pick what to attempt!. I actually are growing to be upset with Hoi An (too touristy). HCMC is a large, vast city - i bypass there to work out friends, no longer the city. Phu Quoc is a special global. i'd attempt reducing decrease back on stops and upload some more beneficial days right here and there. i think you're the fashion of man or woman who is going to discover various sturdy motives to go back! because you won't be able to do all of it in a unmarried holiday! have exciting!
Resort in Nha Trang!
