Travel advice needed?
I am taking a trip to Costa Rica in a couple of weeks with my daughter. We have never been before so I am looking for suggestions for activities while we are vacationing. We are staying at a house on the beach and not a resort. Any suggestions?
Update:Our location is Playa Potrero and we will have a rental car.

What part of Costa Rica and will you have a vehicle rental?
Edit: Nice part of of CR, its quieter and more pristine. In that area you have several national parks. Nearest is Santa Rosa National Park. To the east are the Miravalles volcano, rafting on the Corobici river and Rio Celeste and Tenorio volcano. Further, probably about a 2 hour drive from Playa Potrero is Arenal, Costa Rica's active volcano. Well worth the trip if you have time, you can daytrip but I would spend the night there, the volcano at night is pretty impressive. Just get a cheap hotel for the night and not worry about leaving your rental house empty for the one night. For the rental car make sure you rent a truck or SUV, you won't really need 4wd in Guanacaste region its stays fairly dry though its helpful just in case but its the clearance you really need, not all the roads are paved so a reg car you'll be very limited on where you can drive. I loves to stay around beeches.Last week i also went to Cyprus,it's a beautiful island,but i am stay in villasrentcyprus.co.uk.If you wants to enjoy your vacations you can go on beeches,enjoying food of luxurious restaurants and in Costa Rica there are picnic spots also.I hope you enjoy there with your daughter.
