I have taken a liking to the name Shequoiya (Sha-KOY-ah). I really like it, but I'm not sure if she'll be stereotyped as ghetto. What do you all think?
It sounds like a hippy ghetto name. Even with the "SHA" sound it still makes you think of the tree. Also your child will spend a good portion of her life having to spell her name for other people. If you love it and just have to use it, then use it as a middle name.
I think she would definitely be stereotyped as "ghetto". I mean its quite a stereotypical sounding "ghetto" name. Theres a girl in my grade with a "ghetto" stereotypical name and she hates it, she goes by her middle name Chea. Don't put your daughter through that.
I say name your baby a name that you love regardless of others, but I have to agree with you, maybe just a little bit about the stereotype...good luck!

It's very pretty, but does come off as very ghetto. I personally wouldn't name my daughter it.
ghetto
Sequoia is similar and just as pretty, and might not be perceived as "ghetto".
