My daughter and her friend went this past spring - 18, almost 19 years old. Fortunately, they had relatives and friends to stay with just about everywhere they went, which saved alot of money. I think they stayed in a hostel in London, UK. They went to England, France, Holland, and Switzerland. There are cheap airline tickets, if you plan ahead, but be careful about the weight of your luggage, becuase its a hefty fee for excess weight in baggage.

I also have a niece (age 25) and she meets people and gets places to stay through a couch-surfing internet site. She now lives in Paris. The young people who meet oin this site also have social events - for example, my niece met her boyfriend at a skating party of couch-surfers. You might be abit young for this at age 15, but chat with your parents. My niece says its safe, as long as you are sensible.

I also spoke with a young man and woman at the airport in Paris who took a bus trip around Europe. They had a great time, could get off and on the bus whenever they chose, and it was inexpensive. You might want to price the bus versus Eurorail Pass. Food is expensive too in Europe.
