Buy a crate that is large enough for him and a few toys and when you are not playing with the puppy put it inside the crate. Dogs hate going to the restroom in there own "den" so they generally hold it, but don't leave her in their too long, like 5 hours at a time or more.
When you take the pup out, pick her up and taker her straight outside and set her in the grass. You might have to wait a few minutes. If she doesn't pee, then put her back in the crate.
Don't let your new pup run around unsupervised or she will start peeing. Also, make sure she uses the restroom outside before you play with her inside or she might end up going on the carpet.
Most dogs I have had are quick learners and learn a few weeks. I would discourage you from using the pads for potty taring because then if there is no pad, she will think it's ok to use the house.
Remember accidents will still happen even when your pup is trained.
When I first got 2nd puppy (hes 2 years old now) he pooped and peed everywhere. we got him a puppy pad and showed him there to go. and when he went somewhere else we told him no and put him on the pad. he soon learned to go on the pad. now he goes in the grass in my backyard with my 6 year old dog but we still have the lab because during the day while im at school and my parents at work, he has to go. good luck with your pup:)

The easiest way is to crate train your pu.
