Just wait and have patience. When he figures it out it will be awesome. My son figured it out about 2 months shy of his 3rd birthday and we have no problems at all. Not even a rubber sheet on the bed.

Dont' benchmark your son against other kids. Everyone is on a different schedule. My nephew wasn't completely potty trained until he was almost five. (That was a control issue though.) At least your son is interested. He'll soon learn.

his hearing has nothing to do with it. It doesnt make him special in the sense that he cant learn or shouldnt have to learn the same as other children. Dont do that to him, he has the right to grow and be exactly the same as those around him, making exceptions for his condition only creates distance between him and his peers, making him some how less. he's more than capable of learning the same skills as others.

That said, let him go potty in his pants, at some point he will realize its unpleasant, epspecially if you're not so quick to change him.

It sounds like he's associated clothes with diapers. In his mind he assumes that putting on clothes means he's free and clear to go potty in them, the same as always.

You need to start telling him, and talking to him on a regular basis about how big boys dont go potty in their pants, they go potty in the toilet. Tell him its yucky to potty in your pants, thats what tiny babies do, and he's not a baby, he's a big boy and some day he'll be a big man.

Just talk about it in passing. When you have his attention, such as while shopping, or riding in the car. Tell him that he can tell you when he has to potty and that you will help him get to the toilet, because thats what big kids do, and you dont want him to be a little baby, he's growing up. That sort of thing.

It will build confidence in him that he should go potty, that its normal and common, and that he's more than capable of making that decision himself.

Also, it will help a lot if you always leave the door open to the bathroom when you or your husband/the father are using it. Children learn from watching, not just listening.

If he can see the whole process, ie- mom saying "boy, I have to pee, i better go to the bathroom" if youre careful to do that every time and he realizes the door is open, he'll follow you in there, because thats what toddlers do :) then he can see that you're gonig potty and you can explain to him again "we go potty in the toilet, not our pants, its yucky to potty in our pants" then you can finish, wash your hands and ask him if he needs to go.

This way he can see the whole process and realize that the urge of needing to pee can not only be noticed, but acted on. This is something that toddlers, especially boys, have a hard time grasping. :)

Also, keep his eating and drinking on a tight routine, so that you can help remind him when he has to go potty. After a couple days you'll start to realize how long after a meal it takes for him to need to pee or go potty. Only until you get him to the place where he is routinely reconizing the urge to pee and acting on it properly.

Take a couple weeks to get it down pat, dont revert back to pull ups or diapers. They send mixed messages. Or if you must put a pull up on him, make sure its a thin one thats degisned to make him "feel" that he's wet himself, and not just contain the mess. But its much better to just keep a full change of clothes (shoes included) with you at all times. It makes the process quicker and more real to him, since there are real conseqences, such as beign wet in public, and being changed in a public bathroom.

This consistancy makes it quicker and easier. ESPECIALLY with boys. :)

The more consistant you are every day, the quicker it'll be.

i had exactly the same problem with mine,

be patient, and let him go around pants for as long as you think it is ok.

and then little by little put pants in, and hopefully the accidents will stop soon, but the idea is that he gets into the habit of doing it into the potty.

It worked with mine, but youhave to be very patient and tell him what a good boy he is etc etc.

with my kids i just took the pull ups away and put undrewaer on them this give him no choose to but go. and when he wet tell him that you are not going to change him intell he say sorry next time act like you are mad at him. dont hurt him but say i dont want to hold you because you wet your self . but if he gose make it fun clap hands show what a good job he did and tell how proud you of him give him some thing he like this he will go again ato get what he wants later after he get it then tell i cant give you thing but i am happy for you

Keep a bowl of cheerios on top of the stool. Tell him that when he needs to go, he can throw a few of them in the stool and try to sink them with his pottying. It makes it fun and he will get enthused about it.

You're doing everything right, but now comes the hardest part; waiting until he gets it.. you just have to be consistent, and the most important part is patience!! He'll learn b/c you're doing a good job! Good luck to you

just continue what your dong it will come to him soon that he cant do it in his pants. When he does do it in his pants sit him on the toilet after anyway that way he might click on.

let him go nakie if he pottys that way and dose better than w/ cloths on
