Okay so we just brought home our baby, she's a 5 week old lab mixed with a pitbull...anyways so when we first brought her in she did awesome and still does with not peeing on me when I hold her..I've been doing the leash thing where I keep her by my side at all times so I can watch for signs of sniffing..I have been catching them every time and I just simply scoop her up and put her on her papers and say go potty..but even though she's like mid squat when I scoop her up..I put her on the papers and she no longer has an interest in going..any ideas please? At first she did really good, we would put her on the papers and tell her to go potty and she would. So I would praise her and tell her what a good girl she is. I wanna start taking her outside but with her being so young and not having her first shots yet I want to be EXTRA careful...i know i have to be patient but I just wanna help her..oh and we are crate training her..first night she hated it and would cry like every 3 hours..just ignored her and she would finally fall back asleep..I did let her out to go potty once after she pooped in there once..my boyfriend was with her at the time while I cleaned up the mess...he said she started to poop on the kitchen floor but he put her on the papers and she finished there...this morning I got up to let her go potty again, and I think she has learned not to poop in there already, seeing as there was no more accidents in her crate! :) and as soon as I took her out I put her on the papers which of course she wanted nothing to do with but I knew she had to go cause she was sniffing around. Then she proceeded to poop in the middle of kitchen floor which is where her papers and crate is right now...sorry this is so long and drawn out but I wanted to give every detail...so any advice please??? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
Update:Please people,I appreciate the answers but could you at least read my question before answering? First I did state many times she is a girl and I also said i am crate training her..and the only reason I'm wary about taking her outside is cause she's so young and hasn't had shots yet

Once you interrupt a puppy it is often hard to restart. This is one advantage of taking it outside. Outside you can walk it around with the exercise stimulating elimination. Timing will be very critical with a 5 week old. Their bladders are even smaller than at 7 weeks. For more help on housebreaking, see my answer at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201103...
Puppies are known for crying the first few nights. I have never had much luck with the old clock or radio tricks. What I do is lay down by the crate like I was going to sleep there. Usually a puppy may fuss a little, but then settle down and go to sleep. Once it is asleep, you can get up and go to bed.
At 5 weeks, she is missing some important dog socialization. If she is to get along sell with other dogs, you must find some you can count on being healthy to play with her.

What would be best for pup - is to go to mum till at least 8 weeks . Your three weeks too early to have that puppy really . She has missed out on much by being removed so soon. . In future dont buy puppies this young - its not good for the puppy only the BYB you brought it from .
At five weeks old - the puppy will have accidents. She has little bowl control and cannot hold on for long . So dont expect too much . It takes weeks , sometimes longer to house break a dog 100% . And that is with constant training and supervision .
Take the pup out to potty , after naps , feeding , play every hour . Yes the pup will have accidents its 5 weeks old . You will need to take him out in the night , or he will poop in his crate . So that means some one getting up and making the effort to take her out .
Well when i was potty training my dogs i used puppy training pads they have a sent that dogs like and so the dog will wee on that you can put them inside because it soaks up the wet and you can put them out side when your dog has had it's shots and when the dog is going to the toilet in the right place you take the mat away.
It worked for me!!
Good luck.
I just bought a 6 week old bull mastiff cross and i already toilet trained him in 3 days... when i got him he peed in the house so i put him outside for 20min's. he went inside about 3 time and i done this each time, he then started going towards the back door when he had to go.
Puppies usually start to wander and sniff the ground when they have to go as well so take them out side if they do and leave them out till they go toilet.
Get a crate for your Bullador and start crate training. Paper training is only teaching your dog to urinate and deficate indoors.
Stop paper training immediately! There is nothing wrong with taking your dog out just because she hasn't had shots. Use homeopathic nosodes instead and you will never have to worry about any other vaccines other than rabies.
let him sit in his own waste so he knows what it feels like then when he finally sick of it he will start using the toilet
