i know you dont wanna cgange your mind but you just need to rememer that the tragus is directly next to a huge center of nerves & you could damage the nerves on half your face if its dont incorrectly. just be careful cuz you dont wanna be numb for the rest of your life. its probably wiser to get the tragus ring since a regular earring isnt the same gauge as a tragus one & that way you wont have to change it out. plus a regular earring has a post which could poke against your ear & hurt if you got hit or slept on it. less pain i think! it could get infected but just reduse the risk by cleaning it well twice a day for at least a month. good job!

Take it out, and speak to a doctor or at least a reputable piercer about healing the area properly. In the future don't try something so stupid as to pierce yourself with no idea what your doing. You'll be lucky if you have no issues due to this (Infection, scaring, so on and so forth). Your living under your parents roof and on their money, what they say goes. Doing something like this will just make life that much harder as your parents will likely lose trust in you, and see that you are obviously not mature enough yet to make good decisions for yourself. Add: I find it hard to believe so many people answering here believe in those tragus piercing myths. No they won't cause an infection in your brain, no they won't cause you to bleed out, all myths. Same as saying you can be paralyzed by piercing your tongue incorrectly; it simply isn't true.

You need a special tragus ring. Because with a regular earring, the back can go into your ear and cause damage. And yeah, it's best to get it done professionally.

Buy a ring. A regular post earing won't allow for swelling. Also, you need a sterilized hollow needle to pierce it, because it will most likely get infected with a regular earring.

The tragus is the most dangerous peircing on the body. it has two nerves leading to the brain, one which would instintly kill you, one which one paralyze that half on your body. It probably wont get infected if you take good care, but im not a proffesional.
