starting pay for a retail setting CPhT is around $9/hr. Techs with 5+years experience are making $14/hr.
you are the only one in control of your happiness and it's what you make it. i worked 11years for a grocery chain pharmacy and in my 10th year i was no longer happy, so a year later i left.
I am not a pharmacy tech but the pay will not be great. In the Southwest they make $10 per hour. There are pharmacy tech programs that last only 12 month here. But however, the pharmacy techs I spoke with are fairly happy and like their jobs. The pay is a bummer is the only complaint.
Do a little researching on the pay for pharmacy techs in your area and see if it would be worth your time.
Nationally, the average salary is about $13 per hour. Average starting salary is closer to $10 per hour. Hospitals pay more than retail, but to get into hospital, you'll need experience and certification. There is a lot of turn over with techs. Many of them can't stand the stress and the low pay.
