why is it that when i open my computer the screen becomes blank and both the keyboard and computer flashes? Does it have anything to do with the video card??? or did it already crash? any remedies?
Have you tried to reboot your system? Turn the power all the way off. Let the PC set for at least 10 seconds and then unplug the computer from the wall. The reason for this is to let all of the stored data in memory discharge. Plug the box back in and watch the monitor to see if it is booting. The light on the monitor should go from amber to green if the video card is working. Watch for the post screen (power on self test) that should appear on your monitor. If you do not see the system post then this may mean that the video card has gone bad, but there may be more issue's that would cause this kind of behavior. Before you run out to find a pc mechanic you may want to open the case, (ground yourself by tuoching anything metal to prevent static discharge, And with the machine turned off and unplugged). Make sure that the video card has not come out of the slot. and check all the cables to make sure they are tight. Push on the memory modules to make shure that they are tight. and clean out the cpu fan if it is plugged up with dead dust bunnies. Your problem could be very easy to fix, and don't listen to previous advice I taught myself to fix pc's and now i work on a bout 10 a month. I made the mistake of taking my first one to a professional idiot that blammed everything on a virus and did not fix anything. He tried to charge me $100 bucks for virus removal. Learn to do this yourself. You will be better off and happier doing it yourself. Who knows you may want to do it for side money like I do. Maximum PC has been great soarce material.

Hey i had a same problem two days ago.
I contacted my hardware engineer and he found a fault in the video-card.
He re-installed it.
Try re-installing your video card(Dont do it by your own, call a professional for this)
