I need help on any suggestions on where to stay in town square that is nice but at a reasonable rate with my 8 year old and any great sight seeing ideas. We plan on being there 3 to 4 days. Did you mean Times Square? You won't find any reasonable rates in Times Square, and it's really not necessary to stay in that area. If you prefer Midtown, look east of 3rd ave. or west of 7th Ave. if you want to save some money. Times Square hotels normally go for $400/ night and up, so finding somewhere reasonable in that area is not going to happen. I would suggest going to www.hotels.com and looking there. Also, there are a lot of nice hotels in Queens near the airports (Laguardia and JFK) that are reasonable. There are also a few nice hotels in Astoria, Queens(which is right across the 59th Street Bridge from Manhattan) also (Howard Johnson, Comfort Inn, Laquinta) that are very reasonable and only a few train stops via the Q train from the city, and they all have views of the city.
