My girl....?
theres this girl at school that Im intrested in hooking up with, the only problem is that she has a boyfriend. we are already friends. how do i go about making that transition from just a friend to something more so that if she breaks up with her boyfriend i can get with her. i want to do this in a way that doesnt seem shady.

You really can't make the transition until after she breaks up with him. You might kind of make her uncomfortable if you tell her your feelings before then. She could take it the wrong way too - she might think you are trying to break them up, when you are really not. It is possible that she kind of already knows depending on the way you act around her - girls are much more perceptive than they admit to at times, but it is still a bad idea to confirm her thoughts too soon.
The best you can do is just wait it out and be there for her if/when the break-up happens. Don't take the plunge right away either because she will need some breathing space in between relationships. Basically what I am telling you is to be her shoulder to cry on (if that's the case) and support her. Maybe give it a couple weeks and start dropping some hints or ask her out to dinner and/or a movie just the two of you.
I hope it works out for you, but keep an eye out for other people yourself because you don't want to wait around for something that isn't going to happen. That would be unhealthy for you. Go on a few dates with other people and stuff while you are waiting for the right moment to go for your friend. It will give you the opportunity to fine-tune what you do and don't like in a partner, plus it will give you something to focus on other than wishing that you could be with your friend.
Find out what she likes in a guy, and then play that against her so that she has no choice but to go for the guy that fullfilles her "ideal" standards. That way, when she gets that through her head, you'll be able to have the cake and eat it too.
Just continue to be her friend If she really likes her boyfriend, she won't appreciate you trying to break them up. You wouldn't want to lose her as a friend altogether. Who know what the future will bring?
Show her that you care about her without interferring with her relationship with her bf. Then when she does break up with him wait a while and then tell her how you feel about her and say that you are sorry about her bf and her. Best of luck!!
