I was thinking of this today at school. If, right now, you set your goal to be a Doctor, or a Dentist--and you somehow traveled to the future. Would your future self be a Doctor/Dentist? I'm not really looking for a Yes or No answer. I'm looking for more of a..theory.
If this is possible, you could totally cheat in life and just jump to the part where the money comes into play. However, that still leaves you with two forms of yourself. Would this mean that there is a copy of you for every millisecond that passes by?

Given that time travelling into the future is only possible at a rate of 1 second per second, no.
However, even if it were possible, the answer would still be no. if you travelled into the future, you wouldn't be around to learn to be a doctor (because you'd be on your way to the future), so you wouldn't meet your future self.
Moreover, the future is not set, so even if you "set your goal," it wouldn't guarantee anything, unless you could controll the universe to such an extent that you could guarantee that outcome regardless of coincidence, accident, or misadventure. (And then you'd have the power of a god, so why bother with being a doctor?)
If you "set your goal" to be a doctor, and are hit and killed by a bus the next day, you won't be a doctor in any future at all.
I have been asking myself this question for years! but my theory is that if you go into the future, you have not been there to become a doctor/dentist, you have been traveling through time. therefore you would not exist again untill you came to the future. get it. really confusing. I'm only 14 that is the best i can answer.
I would Say that if it was possible and you saw yourself in the future theres a good chance that you might not be what you wanted to be. Like I REALLY wanted to be a Teacher last year but this yeasr I want to be a Marine Biologeist or an Astronaut. But if you are there How will you be able to be in the past.and if your not in the past You will most certainly not be in the future. thus You will cease to exisit and will Never reach you goal. =] What's you theory on this topic?
Theoretically, you could get into a spaceship and accelerate so that in a year's traveling time, the Earth would have gone around the Sun 20 times. When you landed, would you expect to find yourself? I hope not. You have to explain how you would "split" (or copy) yourself so that one copy would stay behind on Earth and one go off into space. Good luck with that. This is called magical thinking.
actually it was done over a hundred years ago by a man named h.g.wells. he went into the future and came back with plans for things like submarines and other crazy ideas which made him a social pariah.
he went off somewhere and faded into obscurity taking his time machine and it's secrets with him. he wrote about the eloy a race that will exist in the future and i think he left them the secret of time travel. we'll just have to wait and see.
If you do some digging into the studies that Tesla was working on, you will find that there is a person who has built a lab that has recorded a type of (time phasing) or (blurring) based on one of Tesla's drawings & theories; but the Time that one is in, is still that particular moment. the blurring as far as I know has not been explained. I ran across this info approx. 25yrs ago, so you will have to dig on your own. It is OK to have imagination but we really should take up our (thought time) with reality.
